The Book of Chai

This is Mira’s third book, a celebration of chai, the delicious, spicy drink that is woven into the fabric of life in India, now rapidly growing in popularity and enjoyed across the world.

The Book of Chai presents 65 delicious recipes for chai, including recipes using chai spices and dishes to accompany chai. As well as explaining the health benefits and different techniques for making chai, this book contains chais for different seasons, times of day and moods. There are chais to wake you up, chais to soothe you after a stressful day and chais to help you sleep, as well as dirty chai, chocolate chai, and chais mixed with citrus and rosewater. More delicious recipes include lassis, chai spiced carrot cake, crispy pakoras and warming crumbles.

The Book of Chai also explores the fascinating history of the beverage and its role in Indian life and culture. Evocative ‘chai stories’ of the author’s personal chai memories are blended throughout, bringing to life the importance of this drink and the way it brings family, history and culture together.

“There are many books out there that’ll claim to change your life, Prajna doesn’t say that, but it should.
A deeply inspirational book of wisdom, knowledge and spirituality scattered with memoirs that manage to transport you to a time and place you long to be.
Prajna holds your hand and guides you through beautiful age-old tradition and rituals and the knowing hugs you so tightly, that you’ll never want to let go.
Buy a copy, then buy another one for someone you love.”

Saffron Soul

Having travelled extensively through India, Mira realised just how authentic her own home cooked Gujarati food was and came back to learn all those precious recipes which she brings together in her beautiful cookbook Saffron Soul.

She champions eating well and eating wholesome home-cooked food that doesn’t compromise on flavour, using the spice box creatively and not just confining it to curries and daals. Mira combines her love of healthy eating and Indian flavours to create her own style of vibrant Indian-inspired food.
