Saffron Soul supperclub at Rye London, 4th May 2017
There were candles and music, sharing plates of light, flavourful and vibrant dishes, laughter and heart-warming conversations, garlands of flowers hanging wall to wall, ginger-spiced sparkling infusions and masala chai… a feast of new friends and a celebration of my book Saffron Soul… at the beautiful Rye London.

Saffron Soul launch party, 27th April 2017
This book is a real celebration of family, of heritage recipes that bring to life an array of stories, and of feasting. I wanted to bring together all those that have been a part of my journey – family, friends and people I’ve worked and who have helped shape my path. Farm Girl, with its warmth of colour, set the mood for the evening, we had a live guitarist, and vibrant flavourful canapés from Saffron Soul placed around the tables, prepared by myself, my mother, my two lovely aunts and my grandmother! Music has always been an important part of my life, from waking up daily to Rajan and Sajan Misra’s ragas, my father’s favourite morning music, to playing the sitar in my teenage years, and therefore guitarist Joe Hallsworth was just perfect for some upbeat tunes with an Indian accent. A lively event that really set the tone for Saffron Soul and all my ensuing supperclubs and events.

I have now held three supperclubs or ‘feasts’ over the last couple of years, at Grace Belgravia, and absolutely love this beautiful wellness space! Chef Marcin, Mark and the rest of the team are fabulous to work with and help me create a wonderfully colourful and sumptuous feast. Yoga Brunch Club, Brixton East, 21st May
I’ve held my own yoga brunches in the past, but this time I collaborated with the lovely Clem from Yoga Brunch Club in a beautiful venue in Brixton. The morning started off with 40 yogis energising through a gorgeous sun-drenched yoga class taken by Clem and thereafter a feast of dishes from Saffron Soul ending with lots of ginger-infused chai and my signature coco fudge pieces.
Food Book Fair at Ace Hotel, Manhattan, 11th May 2017
I launched Saffron Soul at the opening night of the Food Book Fair, a Media Mixer organised by Quarto Publishing with food from my cookbook paired with cocktails from Warren Bobrow’s latest book Craft Cocktail Compendium. Pieces of dhokla with avocado chutney, handvo with coriander chutney and chickpea tikkis with tamarind chutney were made from Saffron Soul by a catering company in Brooklyn. A wonderful evening of delicious tasters with fresh juice saffron and aniseed spiced cocktails.
