Prajna launch supperclub, part of Cookbook Festival
Friday 13th September

I was thrilled to launch my second book PRAJNA ~ Ayurvedic Rituals for Happiness with this dreamy end-of-summer supperclub, as part of Cookbook Festival in Chiswick. It was a large supperclub for 50 guests, with a combination of dishes both from Prajna and Saffron Soul. The Cookbook Festival team were absolutely fantastic! Thank you!

Diwali Puja & Kirtan with Mauli Rituals
23rd October 2019

I put together a few delicious dishes and treats for a Diwali puja and Kirtan hosted at Anita Kaushal’s beautiful home, founder of Mauli Rituals. A wonderful evening of chants, candles, arti, connection, treats and chai. The menu included a quinoa kale and sweet potato bhel, masala aubergine on sourdough and cucumber avocado tadka salad, as well as pista fudge, date balls and chai.

Prajna Yoga Brunch ~ Mira Manek & Lily Silverton with Yoga Brunch Club
19th October 2019

We had two yoga brunches on the same day at the charming Benk+bo in East London. After a liberating morning yoga flow with Lily, we prepared saffron Bircher pots, followed by bread boards with life changing bread, a selection of chutneys, masala aubergine and spiced figs, thereafter a warming coconut curry Buddha bowl and then of course a small pudding of apple berry stew with fudge crumble served with chai.

Earth Day Yoga Brunch at Darjeeling Express, Carnaby Street 22nd April 2018

Lily Silverton and I are doing our first retreat together in Oxfordshire at the end of May and held a grounding Yoga Brunch for Earth Day as part of our Soulful Yoga series. It was a glorious Sunday morning at the beautiful Darjeeling Express restaurant, right at the top of the magical space that is Kingly Court in Soho.

Liberty Yoga Brunch, Sunday 14th & 21st January 2018

I collaborated with the Clem who started Yoga Brunch Club in two Sunday events at the magical Liberty London. We set up for the beautiful brunch in Liberty’s Heritage Suite while the yoga class took place in the Reset space above. The brunch started with masala chai and chia turmeric puddings with pistachios and berries, followed by glorious Indian Buddha bowls featuring a spiced tahini kale salad, roasted tandoori sweet potatoes and quinoa coconut Upma. The tables were spread with bowls of chutneys and my spiced nut and seed loaf, and the meal then ended with turmeric chai shots with date salted caramel layered coco fudge. Two incredible January Sunday mornings with a group of wonderful yogis.

Diwali on Dalloway

The stunning Dalloway Terrace was the perfect setting for my Diwali supperclub. Leaves hanging from branches, candles laid across the tables, a sprinkle of colourful flowers, rangoli design at the entrance and a meal of beautiful sharing plates, recipes from Saffron Soul and more.

Saffron Soul launch party, 27th April 2017

This book is a real celebration of family, of heritage recipes that bring to life an array of stories, and of feasting. I wanted to bring together all those that have been a part of my journey – family, friends and people I’ve worked and who have helped shape my path. Farm Girl, with its warmth of colour, set the mood for the evening, we had a live guitarist, and vibrant flavourful canapés from Saffron Soul placed around the tables, prepared by myself, my mother, my two lovely aunts and my grandmother! Music has always been an important part of my life, from waking up daily to Rajan and Sajan Misra’s ragas, my father’s favourite morning music, to playing the sitar in my teenage years, and therefore guitarist Joe Hallsworth was just perfect for some upbeat tunes with an Indian accent. A lively event that really set the tone for Saffron Soul and all my ensuing supperclubs and events.

Grace Supperclubs

I have now held three supperclubs or ‘feasts’ over the last couple of years, at Grace Belgravia, and absolutely love this beautiful wellness space! Chef Marcin, Mark and the rest of the team are fabulous to work with and help me create a wonderfully colourful and sumptuous feast. I’ll be doing another feast in the Autumn, so please do sign up to my newsletter if you’d like to know when the next events are.

Yoga Brunch Club, Brixton East, 21st May

I’ve held my own yoga brunches in the past, but this time I collaborated with the lovely Clem from Yoga Brunch Club in a beautiful venue in Brixton. The morning started off with 40 yogis energising through a gorgeous sun-drenched yoga class taken by Clem and thereafter a feast of dishes from Saffron Soul ending with lots of ginger-infused chai and my signature coco fudge pieces.

Food Book Fair at Ace Hotel, Manhattan, 11th May 2017

I launched Saffron Soul at the opening night of the Food Book Fair, a Media Mixer organised by Quarto Publishing with food from my cookbook paired with cocktails from Warren Bobrow’s latest book Craft Cocktail Compendium. Pieces of dhokla with avocado chutney, handvo with coriander chutney and chickpea tikkis with tamarind chutney were made from Saffron Soul by a catering company in Brooklyn. A wonderful evening of delicious tasters with fresh juice saffron and aniseed spiced cocktails.

Soho House New York 16th May

A social interactive morning masterclass cooking up brunch dishes from Saffron Soul, making smoothies, brewing and boiling chai and having a wonderful breakfast feast!

Mira Manek x The Pantry Mumbai

I’ve launched a brand new and exciting menu with the Pantry in Mumbai, a beautiful spacious and charming café in Kala Ghoda, the arts district of Mumbai – check the video here. Chef Subhash and the Pantry team helped me add seasonal specials and adapt some of the dishes with their own flavours. The menu is on for two months…with some of the dishes becoming a permanent part of Pantry’s menu!
